Okay, folks this post is aimed directly at the wonderful and amazing Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Intersexed, Queer/Questioning (LGBTIQ+) young people in Leitrim and the neighbouring areas…
Aged between 14 and 18 years of age? Living in Leitrim or even nearby? Interested in joining a new Youth Group specifically for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Asexual (LGBTIQA+) individuals? Then SMILY LGBT Youth Project would like you to get in touch with them!
SMILY LGBT Youth Project will be hosting their formal registration day for LGBT+ Youth in Leitrim on Friday, April 13th 2018, meeting to take place in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim between 5pm and 7pm. There after the group will meet every Friday for two hours between 5pm and 7pm.
Group meetings will consist of safe spaces for LGBT+ Young People to meet and socialise, play games, participate in groups projects. SMILY LGBT Youth Project is a peer lead support project so young people are consulted on activities they wish to participate in.

North-Connaught Youth & Community Services (NCYCS) is affiliated with Youth Work Ireland and aims to help facilitate a number of Youth-centred projects across the North of Connaught, including; The Cabin Youth Group, Drumkeeran Youth Cafe, Cloone Youth Club, Leitrim Travellers’ Youth Group, and many more around Leitrim.
NCYCS is a regional youth service provider covering Sligo, Leitrim and Mayo. It’s aims are:
- To support the development of young people
- To enable them to take greater control of their own lives by making decisions
- To exercise responsibility and contributing to the development of both their community and their society

SMILY LGBT Youth Project aims to provide a safe, fun and accepting environment, where young LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered) people can be themselves. The group gives an opportunity for young people to socialise with other like-minded young people, develop friendships and access information and support.
SMILY LGBT Youth Project is also affiliated with BeLonG To Youth Services — Supporting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans Young People in Ireland.
