The ABCs of LGBT in Leitrim

8 Rays Leitrim will be welcoming ShoutOUT as they come to Leitrim with their talk The ABCs of LGBT in Leitrim on Monday, June 19 2018 in The Bush Hotel, Carrick on Shannon. The event is will take place between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. This is an educational talk for those who work with young people, as well as parents and guardians.

The ABCs of LGBT in Leitrim is part of a national tour of talks put together by ShoutOUT to help parents/guardians, teachers, youth and social workers who work alongside LGBT+ young people. ShoutOUT have partnered with Cork Gay Project, Bi+ Ireland, Teach Solais LGBT+ Centre, 8 Rays Leitrim and Donegal Youth Service to help facilitate these talks around Ireland.

The talk is for teachers, youth workers and social workers as well as parents/guardians and we will take the question out of LGBT+. We’ll be discussing all the letters, what they mean, subtle prejudices and how to combat them and answering any and all questions you’ve ever had about the LGBT Community!

This will be a safe place to ask questions and learn the terminology in the LGBT community, and how you can be a good ally to the LGBT young people in your life.
